From April 2 to April 4, 2025, Atyrau will host the 22nd North Caspian Regional Exhibition, "Atyrau Oil & Gas 2025." The global environmental movement "Save the Caspian Sea" will take part in the event to draw attention to the severe environmental crisis threatening the Caspian Sea.
Previous attempts by the movement to initiate dialogue with representatives of oil and gas companies have been unsuccessful. Now, "Save the Caspian Sea" is taking decisive action by setting up its own booth directly at the exhibition to communicate its stance directly to industry participants.
We invite members of the media to visit the movement’s booth to cover this initiative and conduct exclusive interviews with the movement’s founder, Mr Vadim Ni. Recently, he filed a lawsuit against Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy and oil companies, demanding the disclosure of Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) terms that regulate oil extraction activities in the Caspian region. These agreements, which remain inaccessible to the public, are crucial for understanding the environmental and economic impact of oil production in the area.
